Why are you on this planet?
What is the purpose of your life? Can you state clearly and concisely what your life is all about? I wrote my first life mission statement about twelve years ago, but significantly revised it today. MY LIFE MISSION The purpose of my life is to love my family, friends, students, clients, parishioners, and readers,Continue reading “Why are you on this planet?”
Be the Change, prt. 4
Scrapping the Presumption of Basic Rightness Bin Laden like you and me? How are Osama bin Laden and your angry, screaming boss alike? Answer: They both did what they did under the assumption that they were fully justified in doing it. In this way, most people are like bin Laden (please hear me out before theContinue reading “Be the Change, prt. 4”
Love Wins? Count On It!
What’s the Big Deal? I just finished reading Rob Bell’s latest book, Love Wins. I did this because so many people have asked my opinion about it. Love Wins is the first Rob Bell book I have ever completed. His material normally is not challenging or enlightening to me on any level whatsoever. Love Wins wasContinue reading “Love Wins? Be the Change, prt. 3

Most of us are not prepared to go from thinking everyone else on earth needs toContinue reading “Be the Change, prt. 2”
Be the Change
[featured-image link=”null” link_single=”inherit” single_newwindow=”false”] One of Gandhi’s most famous quotes is, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This pretty well wraps up the heart of true spirituality. True spirituality stops “waiting on the world to change,” recognizing that the world will not change until individual human beings change. The reason thisContinue reading “Be the Change”
Dudely Dude
I like the word dude. I use it a lot. I wish I could say that someone is a “dudely dude.” “Man, you are one dudely dude.” But when you say it out loud, it sounds like “Doodle-y dude,” which could not be less dudely.
Barack W. Bush?
Is it just me, or is Barack Obama sounding more like George W. Bush every day? This is either because: a. Obama is giving in to political pressure and changing his ideals b. Obama is seeing reality much more clearly, and reasonable human beings, given full information, will naturally come to similar conclusions about howContinue reading “Barack W. Bush?”
bin Laden Dead
On the radio today I heard a family member of a 9/11 victim say the news of bin Laden’s death does not bring rejoicing but, instead, relief. I don’t think I can capture my feelings any better. I have struggled a great deal with how I feel, and how I should feel about this news.Continue reading “bin Laden Dead”
